Amy Bench
Director of Photography
Amy is a cinematographer and filmmaker. She earned her MFA in directing at the University of Texas. Her work has screened at festivals including Berlin, SXSW, Sundance, New York Film Festival, and at MoMA (NYC). Her first feature film as DP, Loves Her Gun, won the Louis Black Spirit of Texas Award at SXSW in 2013. Amy is based in Austin.
Louis Black
Executive Producer
Louis is co-founder (and current editor) of The Austin Chronicle, co-founder (and currently a director) of SXSW, and a founding board member of the Austin Film Society. He was Executive Producer of a documentary film on songwriter Townes Van Zandt and director of Dream Is Destiny, a film about filmmaker Richard Linklater. Louis has been a fixture of the Austin scene for decades.
Ellar Coltrane
Lead Actor
Ellar became known as the boy in Richard Linklater’s landmark film Boyhood. He has since appeared in other films including Barry and The Circle with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson. Ellar has followed the development of this story since its inception and has never wavered in his enthusiasm to play Marsh. He and Dave have been close friends for over eight years which brings an uniquely intimate actor/director relationship to the project. Ellar is a native Texan and a lifelong resident of the Austin area.
David Lykes Keenan
Writer / Director / Executive Producer
Dave is beginning his third career as a screenwriter and filmmaker. He rode Austin’s tech boom as a software entrepreneur, branched out to become a highly regarded fine art photographer, and then wrote and directed his first short film in 2016. His organizational skills created an Austin based software company, a Kickstarter campaign to fund the publication of his book of photography entitled FAIR WITNESS, and the Austin Center for Photography. Dave has lived in Austin since 1978.
Rafaël Leloup
Composer
Born in Belgium, Rafaël graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in classical composition with Grande Distinction. He has worked on a number of independent films that have played at MoMA (NYC), Berlinale, SXSW and TIFF. Rafaël was nominated for Best Young European Composer at World Soundtrack Awards 2013. Rafaël is based in LA.
Tom Suhler
First Assistant Director / Producer
Tom has worked in various capacities in film, including first assistant director, producer, writer, and director. His work produced a number of award winning narrative and documentary film projects seen in such festivals as Austin, Sedona, Sunset (LA), and Breckenridge. He most recently co-produced The Golden Rut which premiered at AFF in 2016. Tom is an internationally acclaimed visual artist, native Texan and Austin resident for 37 years.
